This is Thant Zin Oo – a software developer from Singapore. I was born in Yangon (Rangoon) of Myanmar (Burma) just before ’88 democracy crisis in Yangon. After my high school in Yangon, I joined Singapore Polytechnic in 2005 and graduated with Diploma in Information Technology in May 2008.
Then, I started working as a developer, taking part-time studies. I chose Bachelor of Business Information Systems from Deakin University offshore program via TMC. I’d be a degree holder by 2010 if I don’t take a break in-between. Degree course units I have completed so far range from Accounting and Business Law to Organisational Behaviour and Information Systems Methodologies.
Most of my projects at work have been .Net-based with a few on PHP. The best project I worked on and I felt quiet pleased was my Final Year Project in Singapore Polytechnic – a music billboard with hand gesture recognition support. Back-end Database Management was written in VB.Net. Front-end was Adobe Flash-driven. Data was transferred in XML format. It’s a project of 6 final year IT students from our Singapore Polytechnic ’08 batch.
My hobbies include travelling, reading, writing (blogging), thinking. Interests are technology and politics.
